Wow, what a year 2008 was! The 2007 vintage of Valley Girl Vineyards won medals
at both the CALIFORNIA STATE FAIR and the Napa County Fair! This Wine was
done in a fantastic Burgundy style and is a hit with everyone.
Then there is the crazy 2008 vineyard and fruit season. It began in April with 9
straight days of below freezing nights. Thank goodness Valley Girl Pinot Vines are
on a west facing hill, we didn't lose any fruit!
It will be an interesting vintage for us since we wanted long hang-time, so we picked
at 28 brix. Wow, this will be interesting! We also helped out at two other wineries,
one (Eisenhower Vineyard) has all the Bordeaux variatials, and the other (2 Dog
Wines) produces Chenin Blanc, a first look at white wine for us!
